Liberia’s IMO Representative calls for improved Welfare seafarers

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization Moses Browne, is calling for concerted effort to ensure that Welfare for seafarers is improved.

Mr. Browne said the role played by Seafarers in global trade is significant; and as such there is a need to improve their security and safety.

According to a dispatch from London, the Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization spoke recently at program commemorating the London International Shipping Week.

The program was held under the auspices of the Seafarers Rights International.

Mr. Browne however, commended IMO and other international bodies for the introduction of a Crew Change Policy that allows ship crew changes and travels take place safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.
