Ministers of State, Finance, and Justice end empowerment engagement in Bong County

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – A delegation comprising the Ministers of State, Finance and Justice has ended a three day engagement meeting with citizens and authorities of Bong County.

The Delegation was led by the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel McGill.

In an interview with reporters over the weekend in Gbarnga, Minister McGill said the visit was to see and interact with beneficiaries of his LRD 50 Million scholarship program.

Minister McGill said the scholarship program launched in April this year is targeting at least 30 public and private schools across the county.

Meanwhile, authorities, students and parents of Bong County have lauded Minister McGill and other members of the delegation for coming to the county and ensuring the empowerment of young people.

At the same time, Finance Minister Samuel Tweah, has told citizens of Bong County that the government’s macro-economic policies are on course towards achieving economic stability.

Minister Tweah also said Government has since stopped increasing debt on the bounty’s domestic debt stock and reduced inflation to eight percent.

According to him, the current focus of the Government is reducing the prices of goods and services, including transportation fares.

To do that, especially in the transport sector, Minister Tweah said Government is expected to increase the number of transport buses at the National Transit Authority (NTA) from 40 to 150.

The Finance Minister thanked citizens of Bong County for the warm welcome and encouraged them to remain supportive of the Government in the spirit of development.
