House of Representatives notifies NEC of another bi-election vacancies

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representatives of the 54th National Legislature has notified the National Elections Commission (NEC) of a vacancy.

It followed the election and subsequent certification of Representative Jeremiah Koung of Nimba County, District- One, as Senator, during the December 8, 2020, Special Elections.

The vacancy notification from the House of Representatives brings to four the number of vacancies at the House of Representatives.

The others are from Bomi, Bong, and Grand Gedeh Counties. The notification is in consonance with Article 37 of the Liberian Constitution.

The House wants NEC to work out the necessary modalities for the holding of a By-Election, to fill the vacancy created by the election of Representative Jeremiah Koung as Senator of Nimba County.
