House of Rep. passes COVID-19 Response Recast Budget into law…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representative has passed into law the COVID-19 Response recast budget pending concurrence by the Senate.

According to ELBC Legislative Reporter, President George Weah last Friday, May 15,2020, detailed the Executive proposal in the draft recast budget, reapportioning more than 32 million in the outgoing 2019-2020 National Budget.

The House Ways and Means Committee said that in line with the mandate of Plenary, it conducted a clearing on the draft recast National Budget for 2019.2020.

The Committee added that upon the review of documents and testimonies from the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) and the Ministry of Finance, the recast revenue envelope is projected at 518 million United States Dollars.

Our Legislative Reporter said that the recast budget focuses on health and security in response to COVID-19 fight.
