Edu. Minister Jallah Urges Diaspora Liberians to Move Beyond Sentiment…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Education Minister Jarso Jallah has urged diaspora Liberians to move beyond sentiment and identify concrete ways their experience, expertise, networks, and resources can directly improve education outcomes back home.

Dr. Jallah made the call when she participated in the 2026 Liberia Diaspora Conference in the United States.

An annual gathering that brings together hundreds of Liberians from across the diaspora to discuss national development and their role in supporting progress at home.

The Minister stressed that diaspora engagement in education delivers real results only when partnerships respond to identified needs in schools and communities.

She encouraged stronger and more deliberate connections between Liberia’s education system and the wealth of skills, universities, professional networks, businesses, and institutions available within the diaspora community.

Dr. Jallah’s appearance at the conference signals a clear government position, that rebuilding Liberia’s education sector cannot rest on government action alone. Still, it requires the sustained and purposeful involvement of Liberians wherever they are in the world.
