Private Bar Night Club Owner Goes to Prison

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The owner of Private Bar was forwarded to Monrovia City on Friday on multiple allegations and later taken to Monrovia Central Prison.

Defendant George Harris alias Leroy Harris was arraigned before the Monrovia City Court for preliminary hearing and represented by his lawyer, Cllr. Lafayette Gould.

During the preliminary hearing, the prosecution told the court that they will produce witnesses to testify in the case against defendant Harris.

However, Magistrate Ben Barco said the matter is above the City Court’s jurisdiction and also non-bailable, thus ordering the Sheriff to escort the defendant to Monrovia Central Prison.

Defendant Leroy Harris is among other defendants who are allegedly linked to the recent cocaine discovery worth over 300 million United States dollars in lower Margibi County.

He has been charged with the crimes of importation of controlled drugs, illicit trafficking, money laundering, economic sabotage, criminal conspiracy, among others.
