MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Finance and Development Planning Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan has reaffirmed the Liberian Government’s commitment to running an effective Judiciary through much-needed support.
Minister Ngafuan said:” Recent increment of the judiciary budget from eighteen to thirty-three million is a testament to such binding commitment”.
The finance minister said:” The move represents a massive 80 percent increment over three years, with additional funds earmarked for Courts in Montserrado and other Counties in support of decentralization”.
He emphasized that completion of the 4th Judicial Circuit Court in Harper, Maryland County, and the start of construction for Judicial complexes in Lofa and Margibi Counties will increase access to justice.
Minister Ngafuan was speaking on Friday, July 17, 2026, when he served as Guest Speaker at the Fifth Cycle Graduation of the Professional Magistrate Training Program of the James A.A. Pierre Judicial Institute in Monrovia.
Sixty-four students completed the course and graduated to become Magistrates.
