Liberia’s Health Authorities Say ‘No Confirmed Ebola Case in Liberia”

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Health Authorities in Liberia have disclosed that there is no confirmed case of Ebola, Suspected and Contacts of the virus in the country.

According to the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) Acting Director General, Sia Wata Camanor, despite the cases reported in DR Congo, Liberia remains vigilant.

Dr. Camanor noted that the authorities at the Health Ministry and NPHIL are active and conducting screening activities at various entry points across the country.

She said since the World Health Organization and the African Center for Disease Control declared the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo on May 17, measures have been put in place.

Dr. Camanor said,” The health authorities, amongst other things, have established an emergency preparedness and coordination team to respond in case of any health threats”.

She also disclosed that huge numbers of recoveries have been recorded from measles, lower fever, and monkeypox.
