Liberia, Guinea Ends Cross-Border Conference on Border Conflict with Chiefs, Elders…

LOFA COUNTY, LIBERIA-A high-level cross-border conference between Liberia and Guinea has concluded with both nations reaffirming their commitment to maintaining peace, unity, and cooperation amid ongoing discussions over a disputed border area.

The recent meeting, held in the border region between the two neighbors, brought together local government officials, traditional leaders, security representatives, and community stakeholders.

The conference is aimed at strengthening dialogue and mutual understanding in the wake of recent tensions near border points along the Markona River in Lofa County.

Our Correspondent said both sides have emphasized that peace and collaboration remain the cornerstone of their shared history and future development.

Liberia’s delegation was led by Lofa County Superintendent Lavella Massaquoi, while the Guinean side was led by the head of their Joint Border Security, Colonel Ferssa Soumha.

Meanwhile, both parties have reaffirmed their government’s commitment to dialogue and pledged to work together in furtherance of peace, development, and regional trade.
