MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Opportunities Industrialization Center (LOIC) and the Liberia Professional Chefs Association (LIPCA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening culinary training in Liberia.
The agreement has established a partnership to implement a structured culinary training program to be hosted at LOIC.
LOIC Executive Director Rufus Monroe signed on behalf of the LOIC, and Chef Alie Bengura signed on behalf of the Liberia Professional Chefs Association (LIPCA).
Director Monroe disclosed that students will receive both practical and theoretical training in culinary arts from professional instructors.
He said,” The program will run for a minimum of three months and will provide certification to students who complete the training”.
Meanwhile, the LOIC boss noted that the partnership is intended to enhance skills development and create opportunities for aspiring chefs across the country.
At the same time, the LOIC and the LPCA have outlined their responsibilities following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for a culinary training program.
Under the agreement, LOIC will provide the training venue, administrative support, and utilities, while also managing student registration and tuition collection.
Meanwhile, LIPCA will supply training materials, culinary equipment, and qualified instructors to deliver the program.
The association will also develop the training curriculum, conduct assessments, and issue certification to successful students.
The agreement also includes a revenue-sharing arrangement based on tuition collected from the program.
