MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Military Christian Fellowship (LMCF) has certified more than seventy-five security personnel following the completion of its National Chaplaincy Training Program.
The training is aimed at equipping members of the security sector with faith-based principles to strengthen their spiritual lives and enhance their service to the country through integrity and sound moral judgment.
The Launching and First Certification ceremony of the organization was held over the weekend at the Barclay Training Center in Monrovia.
Delivering the keynote address, the Director of the Liberia Seaport Police, Col. Othello Pierre, described the coming together of security institutions to promote the gospel as both timely and significant, especially at a time of evolving global security threats.
Col. Pierre emphasized that national security cannot only be sustained by weapons, strategies, and policies, but must also be grounded in strong character, faith in God, unity, and moral discipline.
Pierre believes that when security apparatus is guided by spiritual values, it strengthens professionalism, accountability, and trust among security institutions and the public.
Personnel from the Armed Forces of Liberia, the Liberia National Police, and the Liberia Immigration Service, among others, were honored and certified during the program.
Meanwhile, the Acting Chaplain General of the Armed Forces of Liberia, Jackson Payne, said the goal of Liberia Military Christian Fellowship is to use the word of God to foster cooperation among military institutions.
He noted that the Liberia Military Christian Fellowship remains committed to promoting spiritual growth, ethical conduct, and unity among security personnel across the country.
For his part, the security general of LMCF, Rev. Joseph Strother, disclosed the organization’s plans to decentralize its activities across Liberia.
Strother appreciated the organization’s international sponsors, the Mission Support Organization, Military Mission International, and ATTS for supporting the initiative.
Graduates lauded the Liberia Military Christian Fellowship for the training opportunity and pledged to apply the knowledge and spiritual lessons gained to both their professional responsibilities and personal lives.
