Pres. Boakai Issues Executive Order 161 Extending Asset Recovery Task Force’s Mandate to Additional Year

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has issued Executive Order Number 161 extending the mandate of the Asset Recovery Taskforce to additional year.

This followed the expiration of the Asset Recovery Task Force’s mandate on today, March 5, 2026.

According to a release, the extension will enable the Force to complete critical national objectives of the institution.

The Force, among key functions, is mandated to identify, retrieve, and restore stolen government properties and assets, while safeguarding and promoting national development through an appropriate legal framework.

President Joseph Boakai urged the Asset Recovery Task Force to work in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission, and the Office of the Ombudsman to facilitate its operations smoothly.
