CSA Boss Assures Aggrieved Transport Ministry Employees “No job will be lost” …

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Director General of the General Service Agency (CSA), Dr. Josiah Joekai, has assured aggrieved employees at the Ministry of Transport that no job will be lost, amid the transfer of critical operational functions to the Liberia Traffic Management.

In a release issued on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the CSA boss emphasized that staff’s rights will be protected, stressing the need for grievances to be channeled through the right authorities.

His reassurance comes in the wake of protest action by aggrieved workers of the Transport Ministry in connection with the recent development.

In direct response to their concerns, the CSA, in collaboration with the Transport Ministry, restructured the Divisions of Drivers’ License, Tricycles, and Motorcycles.

The CSA said,” These divisions have been reorganized and named as the Divisions of Axie Load Management and Traffic Monitoring and Enforcement to improve efficiency at the Ministry”.

According to the release, civil servants affected by the move are expected to be reclassified and redeployed in the newly formed divisions, in accordance with applicable Human Resource polices and regulations in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport is expected to commence the installation of over twenty-five Traffic Monitoring Systems across major streets and intersections in Monrovia.

The Ministry noted that these systems, when installed, will enhance traffic flow management, support enforcement operations, and improve road safety.

The items, which include closed-circuit surveillance cameras (CCTV) and modern traffic light infrastructure, are expected to also introduce greater high-tech oversight within the land transport environment.

The Ministry, several months ago, installed similar traffic lights along the GSA and Duport Road corridors in Paynesville City to ease traffic congestion and reduce accidents.

Transport Minister Sirleaf Tyler is quoted as urging drivers and pedestrians to remain cognizant of the planned development to avoid confrontation with law enforcement officers.
