Gov’t of Liberia to Deepen Collaboration with Int’l Community, Diplomatic Corps

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The government of Liberia says it remains ready to deepen collaboration with the international community and the diplomatic corps in key thematic areas that seek to uplift the lives of Liberians.

The government named trade, investment, energy, digital innovation, food security, and human capital development as key areas for possible collaboration.

At an event organized in honor of the diplomatic community in Liberia on Friday, February 19, 2026, President Joseph Boakia, on behalf of the government, said,” true cooperation is achieved when citizens’ lives are improved, and hope is restored”.

The Liberian leader also emphasized that through enhanced partnerships with the diplomatic community, classrooms, clinics, and opportunities can be improved, strengthened, and expanded for all.

The President, however, lauded the international community for consistently standing with the government and working with it to advance reforms through its developmental agenda.

Meanwhile, President Boakia has extended appreciation to the diplomatic community in Liberia for supporting the country’s journey from conflict to peace and development.

President Boakia said, “Such partnership has, over the years, transitioned Liberia from a conflict zone to a respectable nation among the comity of nations”.

The Liberian leader made the remarks at the New Year reception held for members of the diplomatic corps over the weekend at the grounds of the Executive Mansion in Monrovia.

He also expressed the government’s gratitude to bilateral and regional partners for supporting Liberia’s efforts toward good governance, human rights, gender equality, and environmental sustainability.

According to President Boakia, through these efforts, Liberia’s infrastructure, education, healthcare, and private sector development continue to create meaningful impact for citizens.

President Boakia acknowledged the community’s continued presence, dialogue, and engagement during the challenging time of funding pauses last year that severely affected key areas of governance.

The Liberian leader believes that the act demonstrated by the diplomatic community highlights true partnership and a deeper sense of collaboration.

For their part, Liberia’s international partners have expressed their strong confidence in President Joseph Boakai’s leadership.

They praised his administration’s focus on infrastructure, decentralization, and the fight against corruption.

The Doyen of the Diplomatic Corps, Cameroonian Ambassador Augustine Gang, highlighted that the President’s agenda has resonated positively with foreign missions, especially the government’s quest to review all concession agreements.

The Cameroonian envoy expressed optimism that this comprehensive review would create a more equitable and mutually beneficial environment for both domestic and international investors.

Ambassador Augustine Gang reaffirmed the diplomatic corps’ commitment to fostering goodwill, solidarity, and partnership for progress under the current administration.
