MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has paid a visit to the Addis Ababa Science Museum on the sidelines of the 39th Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly in Ethiopia.
The President’s visit followed an official invitation from Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali.
An Executive Mansion release says the visit offered President Boakai a firsthand look at exhibits highlighting scientific advancement, and Africa’s growing role in research and development.
The release said the Liberian Leader, during the exercise, engaged with displays showcasing modern discoveries and creative solutions designed to address global and continental challenges.
According to the release, the tour reflected Liberia’s growing interest in science, education, and innovation as key pillars for national growth and development.
Meanwhile, President Boakai is expected to return home later today, following his participationin the 39th Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly in Ethiopia.
During the annual event, President Boakai and his regional counterparts held a series of discussions on pressing issues confronting the continent.
The Liberian Leader, at a High-Level Breakfast Consultation on the Future of the United Nations, called for a comprehensive and inclusive reform of the United Nations (UN).
Liberia, Chair of the African Group at the United Nations, emphasized that the future of the United Nations must be shaped by all its members, especially those who represent its future.
President Boakai believes the call is not to merely have a seat at the table but to ensure that the UN is fit for purpose and truly representative of the world it serves.
