MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Senate has officially appointed and inducted into office Journalist Augustine Saah, as Director of Press and Public Affairs.
Saah’s appointment followed a rigorous evaluation by the leadership of the Senate of several individuals who applied for the position late last year.
Speaking during the official induction ceremony on Monday, January 5, 2026, Saah expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Liberian Senate and pledged to build a robust and effective Senate Press Bureau to enhance communication with the public.
Augustine Saah previously worked for several media institutions, including FAWUL Radio, Kool FM, Truth FM, and briefly at the Liberia Broadcasting System.
While in mainstream, he served as Secretary General of the Reporters Association of Liberia, the biggest auxiliary group of the Press Union of Liberia.
Meanwhile, the former Acting Director of Press and Public Affairs at the Liberian Senate, Bibiana Blay, has welcomed Director Saah and reaffirmed the department’s readiness to continue its collaboration and dedication to the timely and effective dissemination of information.
At the same time, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Rules, Order, and Administration, Senator Gblebo Brown, lauded Director Augustine Saah for earning a high score during the rigorous vetting process.
Senator Brown further assured the Senate leadership’s continued support for the Press Bureau and other departments within the Senate’s Central Administration.
Meanwhile, the appointment of Mr. Augustine Saah reflects a renewed page in the Liberia Senate Press and Public Affairs Department, strengthening its collaboration with reporters who covered the senate.
