MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Project Coordinator of Liberia Women Empowerment Project, Blossom Hodges, says the project has made a significant impact in six Counties in the Country.
Madam Hodges named Montserrado, Bomi, Grand Gedeh, River Cess, Grand Cape Mount, and Gbarpolu as Counties benefiting from pilot one, two, and three of the initiative.
She told ELBC on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, that over one hundred eight women-led enterprises have received grants, with more than three thousand women from Rural Montserrado and Gbarpolu Counties benefiting.
The Liberia Women Empowerment Project is a forty-four-point-six-million US dollar initiative funded by the World Bank.
The five-year initiative aims to foster positive social norms among women, empower vulnerable women, including the disabled, and prevent gender violence, among others.
