ABUJA, NIGERIA–The 68th Ordinary Session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS has ended in Abuja, Nigeria.
Liberia was represented by Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow-Nyanti.
The Chair of the ECOWAS Authority, President Julius Maada Bio, President of Sierra Leone, opened the 68th Session, highlighting the rise in unconstitutional government changes, a threat to regional stability.
President Bio said,” ECOWAS affirms its commitment to democratic governance”.
He then called for progress on the ECOWAS Single Market, trade liberalization, and cross-border infrastructure.
The ECOWAS Authority Chair also announced a new ECOWAS measure to lower air travel costs beginning January 2026.
