MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Education has broken ground for the Liberia School of the Blind Extension Project in Brewerville.
The project, funded through the Public Sector Investment Project, will expand classrooms, dormitories, and specialized facilities to better serve visually impaired students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Education Minister Jarso Jallah said,” The groundbreaking is not just about construction”.
According to her, it is about equity, dignity, and opportunity.
She urged contractors to uphold professionalism and accountability, while commending the school’s administration and staff for their dedication.
Meanwhile, students were praised as the inspiration behind the investment.
At the same time, the Principal of the Liberia School of the Blind, Jackson Suah, has described the extension project as a symbol of inclusiveness.
Principal Suah said,” The project will provide a more conducive learning space where visually impaired students and regular learners can share classrooms, exchange ideas, and grow together”.
He recalled that the main building of the school was last renovated in 2013.
According to him, the new extension, under Minister Jarso Jallah, shows genuine care for the institution and its students.
