MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Unity Party Montserrado County District Nine Chapter is calling on the National Leadership to address what it says is a growing leadership crisis in the district.
The Chapter alleged that complaints against District Coordinator Saydee Myers, including alleged threats from Montserrado County Chairman, Robert Bestman, have gone unresolved for nearly two years.
Addressing a news conference on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in Monrovia, the Secretary General, Daniel Bestman, said,” The District passed a ‘vote of no confidence’ in Myers in 2023, but the action has not been honored.
He said,” Chairman Bestman continues to work with Myers, a move the Chapter believes is undermining the district’s leadership structure”.
Meanwhile, the District Nine Leadership is appealing to the National Executive Committee to intervene and restore order.
Meanwhile, when contacted, the Unity Party Chairman of the Montserrado Chapter, Robert Bestman, said,” The matter remains an internal party issue”.
He explained that the Party’s laws and code of conduct do not permit him to speak publicly on party matters daily.
Bestman said,” He was traveling to Gbarnga for a program and could not have a full conversation at the moment”.
The Montserrado County Chairman promised to speak in detail upon his return.
