MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Catholic Relief Services-CRS) has officially launched its five-year Liberia Country Program Strategy for 2025-2030 at the Monrovia City Hall.
According to the ELBC Reporter, the event was held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, under the theme “In Their Own Hands.”
Speaking as an orator, Internal Affairs Minister Francis Nyumalin praised CRS as a long-standing partner in Liberia’s progress.
He stressed that development must be rooted in dignity and ownership, highlighting that CRS’s approach ensures communities design and sustain their own progress.
He described the strategy as an actionable plan that complements the government’s Agenda for Inclusive Development.
Meanwhile, the launch brought together government officials, the church, donors, and local partners.
At the same time, CRS, the President and CEO, Sean Callahan, has reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to Liberia with the launch of its new five-year Country Program Strategy (2025-2030).
Speaking virtually from Baltimore, Callahan described the plan as a vision for dignity, resilience, and hope, rooted in the principle of human dignity that has guided CRS’s global work for more than 80 years.
He outlined four priority sectors under the strategy: health, agriculture, education, and emergency response.
Callahan emphasized that these priorities reflect Liberia’s national development goals and the aspirations of its people.
He then lauded the government and people of Liberia for welcoming CRS as partners, pledging to continue building bridges of trust, collaboration, and hope.
In a related development, Archbishop Gabriel Jubwe, of the Catholic Church, has reaffirmed the Church’s solidarity with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) as it launched its new Liberia Country Program Strategy for 2025-2030.
Archbishop Jubwe described the strategy as more than a plan, calling it a reaffirmation of shared commitment to the holistic development of the Liberian people, rooted in Catholic values.
He highlighted key principles of Catholic social teaching: human dignity, solidarity, preferential option for the poor, care for creation, and participation in the common good as the moral foundation guiding CRS’s work in Liberia.
The archbishop pledged the Church’s continued partnership with CRS, the government, and stakeholders to ensure the new strategy transforms lives, strengthens systems, and builds a more just and compassionate society.
He urged all Liberians to embrace the vision of inclusive development, stressing that progress must be community-driven and sustained for future generations.
