MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The North Central Alliance (NCA) wants President Joseph Boakai to weed out unproductive, indisciplined, and corrupt officials from within his administration.
According to Alliance, by doing so, President Boakai will be able to fulfil his promises to the Liberian people by improving their wellbeing.
A release quotes the National Central Alliance (NCA) National President, Allison Barco, as saying, the new democratic order in Liberia that ushered in President Boakai must be maintained and strengthened.
Mr. Barco said it must be particularly focused on the execution of key promises and the placement of knowledgeable individuals with integrity, moral rectitude, and experience in governance
The North Central Alliance (NCA) is a regional pro-democratic citizen movement comprising Gbarpolu, Bong, Margibi, and Nimba Counties. It expresses commitment in strongly supporting the Government of President Joseph N. Boakai, Sr., as the government is a brainchild of the Alliance.
“The NCA also admits that the public concerns and noise are too much about security, the economy, and education, amongst others. Therefore, the Alliance is reminding duty-bearers that to get power is easy, but to run and maintain it is difficult.
Hence, we called on the president to appoint individuals who are knowledgeable, committed, patriotic, and competent to implement [his] dreams to thinking, living, and building Liberia, instead of elevating individuals bent on achieving parochial interests”, the North Central Alliance (NCA) National President noted.
Barco, the release stresses further called on the Liberian Chief Executive to take a hold and decisive step to immediately reverse the free tuition policy that cancelled payments of tuition and fees at various government universities across the country.
He narrated that the free-tuition policy has created more problems than improving learning conditions and impacting learning outcomes at the government’s institutions of higher learning.
Mr. Barco: “’ The NCA thinks that the free-tuition policy introduced by Former President George M. Weah is troublesome, meaningless, and counterproductive to the country.’.
Meanwhile, the North Central Alliance (NCA) maintained that the reintroduction of tuition payment must be reasonably considered to the extent that students and their families will be able to afford, he concluded.
