Gov. of Liberia, World Bank to Launch Liberia Component Health Security Project

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia, with support from the World Bank, is expected to launch the Liberia Component of the Health Security Project (HeSP) in Monrovia.

Liberia is implementing the Health Security Program in Western and Central Africa under Phase One of the HeSP, including Guinea and Cabo Verde.

According to a World Bank release, the objective of the Health Security Project is to increase regional collaboration and health system capacities to prevent, detect, and respond to health emergencies in participating countries.

The Health Security Project is funded by the World Bank with coordinating support from the West African Health Organization (WAHO).

Meanwhile, the launch will be followed by the Regional Technical Coordination Meeting for the HeSP at the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf Ministerial Complex from November 11th to 13th, 2025.

The event is being organized by WAHO with participants coming from the World Bank, Guinea, Cabo Verde, Liberia, WAHO, and the World Organization for Animal Health.
