MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s Finance Minister Augustine Ngafuan has given a full breakdown of the country’s 2026 Draft National Budget.
Minister Ngafuan said,” The budget, which has already been submitted to the National Legislature in the tune of over 1.2 billion USD.
According to him, the 2026 Draft National Budget is primarily focused on infrastructure development, security, energy, health, and education, among others.
He disclosed that the budget witnessed 1.3 million domestic revenue, or 94% target for projection.
Minister Ngafuan further disclosed that the 133 million USD has been allocated towards road construction, equipment procurement, and regional connectivity.
151 million USD towards security, prioritizing justice services, national safety, and prison development.
As for education, 78.2 million has been allocated, representing a 30% increase from 2025, to bolster infrastructure, curriculum development, and institutional capacity.
The 2026 Draft National Budget, at the same time, emphasizes revenue generation, debt servicing, and governance reforms.
