MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is expected to launch an outreach program and a legal clinic about the ECOWAS Court of Justice in Liberia.
According to a release, the ECOWAS delegation is being led by the President of the ECOWAS Court, Justice Ricardo Claudio Monteiro Goncalves.
The exercise, which runs from November 10 to 16, 2025, seeks to increase the visibility of the Court, engage Liberians on the Court’s decisions, and have an impact on the sub-region.
ECOWAS stated that the legal clinic will provide a platform for direct interaction with citizens from various communities who seek information about the Court and legal advice.
It said the outreach activities are open to judges of ECOWAS member states, government officials, civil society organizations, and human rights advocates, among others.
The week-long program will commence with a courtesy call on President Joseph Boakai and other top officials of government, to be followed by a town hall meeting with various stakeholders at the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf Ministerial Complex on November 12.
