Nat’l Transit Authority Imports 35 Brand-New Buses…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Transit Authority (NTA) has brought into the country thirty-five new buses, out of a total fleet of sixty vehicles, being procured under a contractual agreement between the Government of Liberia and ABK Motors Incorporated.

In January 2025, the NTA Board of Directors approved and authorized an agreement with ABK Motors Incorporated for the procurement of the brand-new TATA mass transit sixty-two-seater buses.

The resolution also includes eighteen-seater, twenty mini-buses, and five heavy-duty cargo trucks.

According to a release, the buses will strengthen NTA’s existing operational capacity, ensuring efficient, affordable, and reliable public transport services across Liberia.

The release also claimed that the inclusion of cargo-handling trucks marks the first time in the NTA’s history that such services will be offered, thus broadening the scope of its operations and impact.

Meanwhile, the NTA said,” The arrival of the first thirty-five brand-new TATA buses represents a significant milestone in the government’s clearer vision to modernize and expand the nation’s public transportation system”.
