MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has cleared two officials of the Lofa County University of corruption allegations.
They are the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Morlu Korsor, and the Human Resource Officer, Beyan Kamara.
In March this year, the indicted President of the University, Dr. Isaac Podah, complained against Dr. Korsor and Kamara to the LACC over allegations of payroll padding.
According to Dr. Podah, the two individuals were involved in illegal disbursements from the University’s operational account, amounting to over three hundred thirty-seven US dollars and thirteen million Liberian dollars.
Following months of investigation, the LACC, in its October 23, 2025, certification, said Dr. Morlu Korsor and Beyan Kamara were not found culpable.
Upon thorough examination of the facts and available evidence, the LACC said there was no probable cause to pursue legal criminal investigations against the two individuals.
Meanwhile, Dr. Korsor has welcomed the ruling from the LACC, but maintained his innocence of the allegation, stressing that as Vice President for Academic Affairs, he had nothing to do with payroll or financial transactions.
In an ELBC interview on Sunday, November 2, 2025, Dr. Korsor said,” I hold nothing against the indicted President, Dr. Podah, who filed the complaint at the LACC”.
For his part, Kamara thanked the LACC for conducting an impartial investigation, though traumatizing, he said he was glad to be cleared of any wrongdoing and expressed his desire to return and continue working at the University.
Meanwhile, Dr. Morlu Korsor and Beyan Kamara are currently challenging their dismissals by Dr. Isaac Podah from the Lofa County University, through the Civil Service Agency (CSA).
