MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A retired Liberian Journalist of the British Broadcasting Corporation, Jonathan Paye-lay-leh, has frowned at the slow pace at which the Government of Liberia is taking to prosecute corruption allegations.
Paye-lay-leh said,” The government is going into its third year, and it is time for President Joseph Boakai to live up to the promise he made to prosecute past and current government officials accused of corruption”.
In an interview on ELBC’s “Super Morning Show” on Monday, November 3, 2025, the former BBC Liberia Correspondent urged the Ministry of Justice to ensure that the President’s promise of fighting corruption is realized.
Paye-lay-leh is, at the same time, lauding the government for the efforts it is making to improve the economy, create jobs for citizens, and reposition the country on the international stage.
Contrary to the views of the opposition that nothing has changed, the former BBC Journalist named stable electricity, good roads, price stabilization, and the availability of basic commodities on the local market.
