MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia has emphasized its preparedness to present its Fourth Cycle Universal Periodic Review to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland.
The presentation is expected to be done between November 1 and 8 this year.
The Minister of Justice, Oswald Tweh, described the review as an important opportunity for Liberia to showcase its implementation of previous recommendations and reaffirm the nation’s commitment to international human rights standards.
Minister Tweh, who leads the delegation, praised the Inter-Ministerial Technical Team for its hard work in preparing the national report and called the delegates to present a united and transparent account of Liberia’s human rights record.
On Thursday, October 30, 2025, Minister Tweh chaired a high-level meeting with members of Liberia’s delegation ahead of the country’s participation in the 50th Session of the Human Rights Council under the Universal Periodic Review Mechanism.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Justice, focused on refining the delegation’s presentation strategy and harmonizing key national reports that highlight Liberia’s human rights progress.
The delegation includes the Chair of the House’s Committee on Human Rights, Representative Emmanuel Yiah, and other representatives from the National Legislature, members of the Ministry of Justice, and other institutions of the government.
