MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is holding a three-day workshop to validate the feasibility report on the installation of a second underwater cable connecting Cape Verde, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea-Bissau.
ECOWAS said the project aims to strengthen regional digital connectivity, increase available international capacity, and ensure the security of the communication infrastructures of the four countries.
The workshop, organized in collaboration with the Digital Economy and Postal Directorate, was opened by Mohammed Massaley, Deputy Minister of Post and Telecommunications.
Also in attendance is Kebba FYE, Acting Director of PPDU at ECOWAS, as well as technical and financial partners.
