Gov. of Liberia, FAO, to Design Five-Year Strategic Plan for Nat’l Food Assistance Agency

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia, with support from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), is designing a five-year strategic plan for the National Food Assistance Agency (NFAA).

The plan, when finalized, will ensure effective food delivery at public schools, hospitals, orphanages, and prison facilities across Liberia’s fifteen counties.

The Director General of the NFAA, Boakai Sirleaf, said,” The entity is collaborating with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Cooperative Development Agency to buy locally produced food for the initiative”.

Sirleaf also thanked the government for the sharp increment in the entity’s budget from one hundred twenty-four thousand to six hundred eighty thousand US Dollars.

Meanwhile, he has vowed to foster transparency and accountability at all levels to ensure that the government addresses the needs and aspirations of the Liberian people.
