MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow-Nyanti, and the Secretary of State of the United States of America, Marco Rubio, have discussed the need to deepen U.S.-Liberia bilateral relations in critical areas.
According to the Department of State, Secretary Rubio discussed avenues for expanding U.S. participation in Liberia’s critical Mineral Sector.
At a meeting held on Friday, October 17, 2025, in Washington, D.C., Minister Beysolow-Nyanti and Secretary of State Rubio discussed deepening U.S.-Liberia bilateral relations and expanding U.S. commercial engagement in Liberia.
The Spokesperson of the U.S. Department of State, Tommy Pigott, is quoted by Reuters as saying the meeting explored avenues for expanding U.S. participation in Liberia’s critical Mineral Sector to create jobs and economic growth in both the U.S. and Liberia.
Meanwhile, Minister Beysolow-Nyanti has described the meeting as a constructive dialogue with the U.S. Secretary of State and National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump.
Minister Sara Beysolow-Nyanti said she was joined in the West Wing of the White House by Ambassador Al Hassan Conteh and the Assistant Minister for American Affairs Christiana Konneh.
