Nimba Kwado Liberia Pursues Peace between VP Koung and Sen. Kogar

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Nimba Kwado Liberia, a local citizen movement in Nimba County, is seeking a peaceful dialogue between Vice President Jeremiah Koung and Nimba County Senator Samuel Kogar.

Recently, Senator Kogar accused VP Koung of straining their relationship by entertaining gossip that he, Kogar, harbors an ambition to become Vice President of Liberia.

Addressing a press conference during the weekend, the group emphasized that it is not time for confrontation, calling on elders, the Nimba Legislative Caucus, mothers, women leaders, youth, and stakeholders to create dialogue that cements peace between the two leaders.

Nimba Kwado Leadership further stressed that the forebears of the county who laid the cornerstone of Nimba’s legacy would not feel pleased about such disunity at such a critical juncture.

Meanwhile, the institution is urging both Vice President Jeremiah Koung and Senator Samuel Kogar to unite in ensuring that a peaceful, prosperous, and cohesive Nimba County is achieved.
