MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Port Authority (NPA) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to education and national development through strategic intervention with the University of Liberia (UL).
In a recent meeting centered on finding a lasting solution to the long-standing inadequate seating capacity problem at the State-run university, NPA Managing Director Sekou Dukuly emphasized that NPA is committed to contributing to the needs of the UL, aimed at creating an enabling learning environment for all students.
He pledged an initial contribution of twenty-five thousand US Dollars toward the procurement of chairs, and assured that the school administration of galvanize the support of partners of the NPA to raise additional resources that will help mitigate some of the problems being faced by the University.
Meanwhile, the NPA boss disclosed plans for future collaboration between the NPA and the UL, particularly in training NPA staff for enhanced professional development and operational efficiency.
Remarking, UL President Dr. Layli Maparyan lauded the NPA boss for his transformational leadership at the NPA, and for extending support and partnership to the UL at such a critical moment.
The meeting was attended by Senior Executives of the NPA, including NPA Deputy Managing Director for Operations, Emmanuel Horton, Executive Director for Governmental and International Affairs, Sekou Kolleh, and the Executive Director for Human Resources, Vashti Sirleaf, among others.
