Gov. of Liberia to Engage Diaspora Liberians…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia is expected to engage its citizens and descendants from across the globe at the first-of-its-kind diaspora conference focused on national reconciliation and development.

The event. Titled:” Building the Future Together”, will be held from September 26-28 in Washington, D.C., the United States of America.

Organized by the Diaspora Affairs, the conference fulfills a promise made by President Joseph Boakai to engage the vast talents and resources of the Liberian Diaspora.

According to a dispatch, President Boakai, who envisioned the gathering, will actively participate and conclude the event with a town hall meeting.

The Chair of the Planning Committee, Ambassador Emmett Dunn, reported that over a thousand Liberians from the U.S, Canada, Europe, Africa, and Asia have already registered to join both in person and online.

The discussion will center on four key areas identified as national priorities, including reconciliation and national healing, education, healthcare, and investment.

The release added that the conference is a cornerstone of President Boakai’s efforts to address Liberia’s past and build a more united future.
