SANNIQUELLIE, NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Post and Telecommunications Minister, Sekou Kromah has outlined key achievements in Liberia’s digital transformation.
Minister Kromah, speaking at phase two of the Government’s Town Hall meeting in Sanniquellie, Nimba County, over the weekend, highlighted Liberia’s first Digital Village with Huawei, a new internet facility at the Nimba County University.
He also revealed plans to expand community WIFI hotspots across Nimba and Bong Counties, and Liberia’s participation in the 14.29 million Amilcar Cabral Submarine Cable Project aimed at boosting broadband and positioning Liberia as a regional digital hub.
According to him, these achievements are building blocks for a connected and prosperous Liberia.
Minister Kromah stated that the Post and Telecommunications Ministry will continue to advance telecommunications services as a means for national unity and growth.
The Second Edition of the “Kapa Kulono”, which translates from Kpelle as “Come, Let’s Talk It,” served as a platform for open dialogue between the Liberian government and its people.
Meanwhile, Kromah has also emphasised the need for the Boakai administration’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and ensuring inclusive governance.
He said, “Under President Joseph Boakai’s administration, they are not just talking, listening, acting, and building a Liberia where every voice counts.
The town hall, themed around citizen engagement and accountability, reinforced the government’s commitment under President Joseph Boakai to ensure every Liberian voice counts.
