MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) has officially opened its doors to over thirty students drawn from various high schools and universities across Liberia.
The initiative forms part of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning’s vacation job training program, designed to build the capacity of young people.
Giving the overview of the internship program, the Human Resource Officer of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, Ruby Zoe Folly, said,” The initiative is aimed at giving the students a broader understanding of the Public Sector and how they can work with other top officials of the government”.
During the launch ceremony, officials of the LWSC expressed delight in working with students, noting that the program will provide hands-on experience in the water and sanitation sectors.
They emphasized that such engagements are crucial for preparing young Liberians for future employment opportunities.
For their part, several students expressed excitement about the opportunity, highlighting that it will allow them to develop practical skills while also understanding the importance of water and sanitation management in the country.
