MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance against rape and sexual violence in Liberia.
Deputy Information Minister for Press and Public Affairs, Daniel Sando, maintained that the government will not shield any alleged rape case.
Minister Sando was speaking in response to a recent statement made by Cllr. Tiawan Gongloe about the alleged rape case involving a Deputy Youth and Sports Minister.
He emphasized that the criminal justice system should be allowed to operate independently, without interference.
According to Deputy Minister Daniel Sando, the Liberian Government will not give credence to any action that could undermine or jeopardize the investigation.
Meanwhile, Minister Daniel Sando cautioned Liberians against politicizing alleged rape cases.
