MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Saudi Arabia has committed to deepening cooperation and consultations with Liberia on issues of international peace and security during Liberia’s term on the UN Security Council.
The Saudi Arabian Government also proposed that the two countries explore ways of strengthening diplomatic relations at such a critical juncture in the geopolitical space.
The Arab nation’s statement was delivered by a Special Envoy of the Saudi Arabian Government, Ambassador Saad Alqathami.
The Saudi Arabian Diplomat was sent specifically to meet with Liberia’s Foreign Minister, Sara Beysolow-Nyanti, and convey a special congratulatory message on Liberia’s successful election to the UN Security Council.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Nyanti thanked the Saudi Government for supporting Liberia’s election to the UN Security Council and for the visit of the Saudi Envoy to Liberia.
Minister Nyanti assured the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of Liberia’s commitment to international peace and security and expressed Liberia‘s openness to political consultation and cooperation with the Government of Saudi Arabia.
In response to Saudi Arabia’s interest in understanding how to cooperate can be strengthened, Minister Nyanti elaborated on Liberia’s economic diplomacy agenda and noted that Liberia will also explore means of strengthening economic, trade, and commercial relations.
Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow-Nyanti emphasized the importance of the infrastructural projects of President Joseph Boakai and sought a way forward to dialogue around the same.
