MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia is poised to benefit from over 7 billion in Japanese investment funds, aimed at reducing risk for investors in energy and agriculture.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, the significant gain stems from the just-ended Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) held in Yokohama, Japan.
The Foreign Ministry also disclosed that Liberia will participate in pilot programs for climate-resilient rice varieties in Lofa and Bong Counties.
The release added that the West African Nation stands to gain access to advanced Japanese irrigation technologies to boost food security and reduce imports.
Through a new Japan-Africa economic partnership, Liberia is also positioned to receive technical support to modernize the Freeport of Monrovia.
