MARGIBI COUNTY, LIBERIA-Former Margibi County District Four Representative Candidate Jimmy Sankaituah has described Liberia’s 178th Flag Day as a symbol of unity and a moment of historic reflection for the younger generation.
Sankaituah said,” This year’s celebration went beyond the traditional parade, as it also recognized the academic achievements of more than sixty students across the county”.
The former Representative Candidate also commended the Liberian Government for the significant progress being made in reshaping the country’s image locally and internationally.
He urged Liberians to embrace the government’s efforts in establishing systems that will foster national healing and unity.
Meanwhile, Sankaituah called on the government and local authorities to move away from street parades during the Flag Day celebrations and create programs that will promote reconciliation, as well.
He said such initiatives would empower community leaders to support the government’s fight against drugs and help to ensure that the country remains free from violence.
Former Representative Candidate Sankaituah responded to a recent statement by Internal Affairs Minister Francis Nyumalin, who reiterated why Margibi County has not been given a ministerial position.
Sankaituah said that the President is aware of the situation and will address it as soon as possible.
