24-Yr-Old-Man Dies on Dredge Mining Mission…

GRAND GEDEH COUNTY, LIBERIA-A twenty-four-year-old Malian National, Alieu Depoe, has reportedly died while on a dredge mining mission on the Cavalla River in Grand Gedeh County.

The incident occurred in Skeleton Camp, Konobo District, where the deceased and his friend, Solomon Issufur, had gone on a mining expedition on the river using a boat.

Our correspondent quotes police records as saying, a rock fell on the deceased while mining at the bottom of the river.

The friend of the deceased, Solomon Issufur, sensing danger, informed community members to aid him in rescuing his colleague.

Our correspondent said the police authority has employed the services of divers in the area to help retrieve the remains of Alieu Depoe from the bottom of the Cavalla River.
