Chief Justice Yuoh Officially Retires as Liberia’s Chief Justice of the Supreme Court…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A formal retirement ceremony has been held on Capitol Hill in Monrovia for outgoing Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia, Sie-A-Nyene Yuoh.

The program held in the Chambers of the Supreme Court witnessed the convergence of Associate Justices and other members.

In her retirement message, the outgoing Chief Justice threw light on the time she assumed office, emphasizing that she took the seat during a time the country was faced with tense political activities.

Justice Yuoh admonished her successor, Justice Yamie Gbeisay, that no matter the change in leadership of the Court, the law should remain the law.

Justice Yuoh noted that her administration focused squarely on providing justice for those seeking it, despite the challenges and political interference.

She added that the foundation on which the laws were crafted remains intact, even as she leaves office.

While bidding farewell to all Associate Justices, Chief Justice Sie-A-Nyene Yuoh said,” I am hopeful that Justice Yarmie Gbeisay, as Chief Justice, will follow a similar path, no matter the situation”.
