“Gov. of Liberia remains committed to zero-tolerance stance…”-Deputy Info. Minister Sando

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Deputy Information Minister for Press and Public Affairs, Daniel Sando, says the government remains committed to a zero-tolerance stance in the fight against illicit drugs.

Minister Sando stressed that no status, uniform, or amount of money can protect anyone involved in drug-related activities.

The Deputy Information Minister described the recent actions by residents of Saye Town Community in Sinkor as a major boost to the national campaign against illicit drugs.

He commended the community’s initiative, noting that it sends a strong signal for policymakers to embrace, and urged other community leaders to follow the example of Saye Town residents.

Addressing the MICAT Regular Press Briefing on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in Monrovia, Minister Sando applauded the community dwellers for carrying out their action peacefully without violence.

Meanwhile, Minister Sando has emphasized that the fight against illicit drugs cannot be won by the government alone, but requires the collective effort of all Liberians.
