China’s Mainland Group Finalizes Talks with Liberia’s Agriculture Ministry to Invest…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Mainland Group in China has finalized talks with Liberia’s Agriculture Ministry to invest one hundred million United States Dollars in key areas of the Agriculture Sector.

The President of Mainland Group, Zhu Chen, said,” The decision was reached, following a series of discussions with Agriculture Minister, Dr. Alexander Nuetah, to enhance food production in Liberia”.

Chen told a news conference on Monday, August 11, 2025, that the Mainland Group will be in Liberia in the coming months to begin construction of several agricultural factories, as part of its commitment to drive Liberia’s growth.

 The President of Mainland Group thanked the Liberian Government, especially the Ministry of Agriculture, for the partnership, emphasizing the need to continue nurturing such a partnership.

Meanwhile, Chen said the Mainland Group’s one hundred million US Dollars agricultural investment will focus on rice, cassava, cocoa, and sugar refinery, among others.

In remarks, Agriculture Minister, Dr. Alexender Nuetah, said” The Liberian Government is committed to attracting investment opportunities for the betterment of Liberia and its people”.

According to Minister Nuetah, the discussion between the Ministry and Mainland Group to invest in Liberia’s Agriculture Sector is a testament to the government’s commitment to improving the country.

Speaking Monday at a news conference in Congo Town, the agriculture minister expressed explicit confidence that the initiative, when carried out, will create job opportunities and contribute hugely to the country’s economy.

Minister Nuetah reaffirmed the Liberian Government’s willingness to collaborate with local and international partners to accelerate Liberia’s development drive.

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Dr. Alexander Nuetah said the Chinese Government has finalized plans to increase the two-hundred and eighty-eight agricultural machines that are expected to arrive in Liberia shortly to three-hundred and four.
