MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) and the Information Ministry, with immediate effect, have decided to lift the temporary moratorium on the live coverage of the weekly MICAT Press briefing.

It followed a courtesy visit by Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah and Liberia’s Special Presidential Envoy on Tourism, Ambassador Christopher Onanuga, to the office of LBS Director General Eugene Fahngon on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Director Fahngon and Minister Piah pledged their unwavering commitment to forging a strategic, proactive, and productive partnership for effective government communication in the interest of the State Broadcaster.

Director Fahngon called on the public to continue following the State Broadcaster as the most authentic media outlet in the country.

He thanked Minister Piah and Ambassador Onanuga for their visit, promising that LBS will never be the same.

Meanwhile, a follow-up meeting involving the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, the LBS management, the Ministry of Information, and the LBS Board of Directors is scheduled to take place in the coming days.

Both Minister Jerolinmek Piah and Director Eugene Fahngon expressed optimism that the upcoming meeting will bring about a lasting solution to address the issues faced by LBS.
