Info. Minister Piah Stresses Danger in Public Perception Overriding Facts…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah has emphasised that public perception should not override the facts uncovered through investigation by the Liberia National Police (LNP) into the Foday Emery Johnson case.

Minister Piah stressed that the LNP has formally charged Johnson with armed robbery, criminal attempt to commit murder, and sale of a firearm.

These charges, according to Minister Piah, are by Liberian laws, noting that the police have forwarded the case to court for immediate prosecution.

Meanwhile, he reiterated the LNP’s commitment to protecting the lives and properties of all citizens.

At the same time, the information minister extended thanks to the Management of ECOBANK for the courage and support since the commencement of the case.

He warned media personnel to be careful about reporting such matters and to avoid making judgments based on status rather than facts.

Minister Piah maintained that the LNP is focused on obeying the rule of law of the country through proper judgment of cases.

Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah expressed hope that the incident would serve as a lesson for citizens to avoid making hasty judgments and to respect the investigative process.
