MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia is set to hold a tripartite gathering with telecommunication regulators in Sierra Leone and the Ivory Coast, as part of efforts to implement the ECOWAS Free Roaming Policy.
The policy aims at eliminating exorbitant international roaming charges and promoting affordable cross-border mobile communications in ECOWAS Member States.
Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) Director of Strategy, Blidi Elliott, told ELBC Super Morning Show on Thursday, July 31, 2025, that delegates from Sierra Leone and the Ivory Coast will be in Liberia on Monday, August 4, 2025, for the high-power meeting.
Elliott said,” The policy, when implemented by ECOWAS Member States, will foster cross-border trade and improve telecommunication services in the sub-region.
Meanwhile, the LTA Director of Public Affairs, Jarsea Burphy, has reaffirmed the Liberian Government’s determination to provide affordable communication services for the citizenry.
