Liberia’s VP Wants UN Member States Go Beyond Agriculture Investment

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s Vice President Jeremiah Koung wants the UN member states to go beyond investing in agricultural yields and begin prioritizing sustainability, human dignity, resilience, and lasting transformation for future generations.

 Vice President Koung also wants participants of the ongoing UN Food Systems Summit in Ethiopia to recalibrate strategies and accelerate the journey toward sustainable, inclusive, and resilient food systems.

He pledged Liberia’s unwavering support to the UN Food Systems’ agenda, while recognizing the UN’s role in security in Liberia.

Vice President Koung, on behalf of the Liberian Government and the Liberian people, also extended profound appreciation to Ethiopia and Italy for their critical role in convening the UN Food Systems Summit.

Vice President Jeremiah Koung’s statement was contained in his official address delivered on Monday, July 29, 2025, at the ongoing United Nations Food Systems Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
