MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Lion Club International, in collaboration with the Greater Monrovia Lions Club International, has donated several food and non-food items to inmates at the Monrovia Central Prison.
The President of the institution, Cllr. Benedict Sannoi emphasized the importance of giving back to society, especially during times of growing social and economic hardship.
Cllr. Sannoi said the donation is just one of the many ways they show support and love for the people of Liberia, and they are committed to making a lasting difference.
Donating to the Monrovia Central Prison in Sinkor, the President of the Greater Monrovia Lions Club International, Fredrica Modad, also noted that the donation is part of the Club’s broader initiative to address challenges related to health, education, and social welfare.
Madam Modad named the items as 30 bags of rice, Clora, Sanitary pads, Soaps, and medical provisions, among others.
At the same time, the Assistant Director of the Monrovia Central Prison, Lawrence Bohlen, thanked the Lion Club organization for such a gesture and described the donation as timely.
Director Bohlen said those items will go a long way in meeting the daily needs of those under their care.
He encouraged more citizens and organizations to join hands in building a stronger and more compassionate Liberia.
Director Bohlen made the statement at the donation ceremony in Sinkor.
